Ever since Mary Beth can remember her happiest childhood memories are of spending countless hours at home creating and producing cheerful works of art. She recalls making Christmas ornaments, neatly arranging them in a box, creating a price list, and selling them door-to- door in her neighborhood. She also loved to paint and draw and felt that the best gift was a handmade gift! A St. Louis native, Mary Beth graduated from the University of Missouri (Mizzou) with a degree in Housing and Environmental Design. After a career in Commercial Interior design, Mary Beth decided to stay home to raise children. It was during this time that Mary Beth started Designs by Mary Beth. She soon realized that she was painting homes as a means to stay home . . . the shoe fit! Mary Beth feels that her many years of experience as an artist, along with her professional training have led her to become highly skilled at producing beautifully detailed house portraits. Either in watercolor or pen & ink Mary Beth has a very sensitive eye for both color and detail. Not only does she capture the essence of the home, but her unique style which she discovered long ago comes through in each piece. Mary Beth’s portraits have become well known both locally and nationally. Her work has been sold through the national mail order catalog Home Decorators Collection and advertised or published in many other local and national publications. Working from photos Mary Beth has produced hundreds of house portraits from across the U.S. and she looks forward to producing many more!

April 14, 2007 Hi Mary Beth, it's 11 PM. Friday and we just got home from a long day of chores, and lo and behold our house portrait was waiting for us on our front porch...and it's Great!! Nora and I are thrilled with it and we can't wait to take it to the framing shop in Ashland (abt. 30 mi. south of us) and have it matted and framed. You did a super job and are to be congratulated! Thanks so much, Mary Beth. I'll call you tomorrow, it's too late right now. We can't wait to show it to all our neighbors!! Many thanks, Stan Southern Oregon
